About Us

What is CHI ALPHA?

Chi Alpha is a multi-national movement of college students earnestly following Jesus. We are on over 250 campuses here in the U.S. and have a close association with hundreds of other groups around the world. Our worldwide mission statement is “Reconciling students to Christ; Transforming the university, the Marketplace and the World.”

Why the Name Chi Alpha?

The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of a phrase written by the Apostle Paul in the Bible. “Chi” stands for Christ and “Alpha” for ambassadors. As ambassadors, we are “Christ’s sent ones”. The name is a reminder that we should live to reflect and reconcile others to Jesus.

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. II Cor. 5:20

What are Chi Alpha’s affiliations?

Even though our name is composed of Greek letters, we are not affiliated with the Greek system. We are an interdenominational fellowship supported by the Assemblies of God. Anyone from any background is welcome.

What is the Bottom Line?

Chi Alpha is a ministry of worship, prayer, discipleship, fellowship, healing, belonging, evangelism, teaching and service on campus. We are transforming our world, locally and around the globe.

Who are the Directors?

TCU directors are Lance and Angela Loven.
